So yesterday I worked the simple shift of 7-11. Usually I do things to pass the time on long shifts, like load dairy, or block aisles, etc, etc. It's pretty damn boring, but it is what it is. Except when you work 4 hours, there's not a lot of time to do anything. 5 minutes before I had to leave, I was told to unload a case of pasta and put it on the shelves. I told them I would do as much as I could, but when 11:00 hit I would be out the door. So Lisa, my coworker, told me she didn't care what I did. If I wanted to stand out front and play with myself, that was fine with her. Now, I thought this comment was funny, and I blew it off, loaded about 3 boxes of pasta, and clocked out. Since I was off so early, I walked down the street to Brueggers to get myself breakfast and a chai tea. Now, Lisa's daughter is the manager at this certain Brueggers and when I go in, I usually say hi or something. Today I thought it would be nice to let her know what her mom said to me. Apparently though, I shouldn't have said anything. I got into work today at noon and Lisa told me that her daughter came home complaining that she got in trouble with her general manager who was standing aside and thought that conversations like that were inappropriate. She also thought her mom was immature and disgusting for saying such a thing. Now, Im not in trouble or anything, but I have to wonder if my theory is true. There is something in the water here in Oakmont. It causes people to be stuck up, rigid, and humourless. **Looks around suspiciously** ...And that's why Im sticking with bottled water from here on out.
